Walter "Gerry" Runte

Gerry brings 45 years of experience in the energy and the environmental fields, equally divided between senior executive positions in electric utilities and the launch of clean energy/renewable technologies.

Gerry currently chairs York's Climate Action Plan Steering Committee and is a member of the town Energy Steering Committee and Planning Board. He is also a member of the York County Emergency Communications Team.

Before moving to Maine, Gerry was a Team Leader for six years with Santa Fe Search and Rescue Group, a volunteer wilderness rescue organization, a gubernatorial appointee to the New Mexico  Search and Rescue Review Board and President, NM Search and Rescue Association.

Gerry is a veteran with 12 years of service, commissioned officer, in the U.S. Army.
